Finding Purpose in Wellness
We were curious to know what inspired Chelsea to pursue a career in fitness and wellness coaching, so we asked her what motivated this path.
Chelsea: My passion for fitness began with my own personal wellness journey. I discovered that exercise is about so much more than appearance—it’s about gaining confidence, reducing stress, improving mental health, and creating a better quality of life. I wanted to become the person who could encourage others to believe in themselves, especially during seasons when they may not feel motivated. Helping people realize they’re stronger than they think is one of the most rewarding parts of what I do.
From Knowledge to Practice
We were interested in learning how Chelsea’s education in Sports Science influenced her professional journey, so we asked her how it helped shape her career path.
Chelsea: Studying Sports Science gave me a deeper understanding of how the human body functions, adapts, and performs. It taught me that effective fitness isn’t based on trends but on science, education, and individualized programming. My education has allowed me to design workouts that are safe, effective, and sustainable while understanding the importance of injury prevention, recovery, nutrition, and long-term wellness. It continues to influence every client interaction and coaching decision I make.

The Path to Professional Certification
We were curious to know what motivated Chelsea to become a NASM Certified Personal Trainer and Wellness Coach, so we asked her what inspired her to earn these certifications.
Chelsea: I wanted to ensure that I could provide evidence-based coaching and truly make a positive impact in people’s lives. Becoming NASM certified allowed me to build the knowledge and credibility needed to help individuals safely reach their goals while addressing overall wellness—not just physical fitness. I believe true health includes movement, nutrition, mindset, stress management, and self-care, and I wanted to be equipped to coach the whole person.
Fitness for Mind and Body
We were interested in understanding Chelsea’s perspective on the relationship between physical fitness and overall well-being, so we asked how fitness contributes to mental and emotional health.
Chelsea: Fitness is one of the most powerful tools we have for improving mental and emotional health. Regular physical activity helps reduce stress, anxiety, and symptoms of depression while boosting confidence, energy, and resilience. Exercise provides a healthy outlet during difficult times and reminds us that progress happens through consistency, not perfection. I encourage my clients to view fitness as an act of self-care rather than a punishment because taking care of your body also strengthens your mind.

The Future of Wellness
We were curious to learn Chelsea’s perspective on the evolving fitness and wellness industry, so we asked her what trends she believes are shaping its future.
Chelsea: One of the most encouraging trends is the shift toward holistic wellness. More people are recognizing that fitness includes mental health, recovery, sleep, stress management, and healthy habits—not just weight loss. There’s also increased interest in personalized coaching, virtual training, wearable technology, and building supportive online communities that help people stay accountable. I believe the future of fitness is centered around sustainability, education, and making wellness accessible for everyone.
Advice for Beginners
We were interested in learning what guidance Chelsea would offer to those beginning their fitness journey, so we asked her what advice she would give to someone just getting started.
Chelsea: Start where you are, not where you think you should be. Don’t compare your chapter one to someone else’s chapter twenty. Focus on building small, consistent habits because those create lasting results. Celebrate every victory, no matter how small, and remember that progress isn’t always visible on the scale. The most important thing is to keep showing up for yourself, even on the days when motivation is low. Consistency will always outweigh perfection.

Closing Quote
