A Journey of Growth and Recognition
We were interested in learning more about Aarthi Ravichandran’s professional background, so we asked her to briefly introduce herself and share her professional journey.
Aarthi Ravichandran: I’m Aarthi Ravichandran from Saint Augustine, Florida. I was featured as an Emerging Leader in New York Weekly Magazine and recognized by Influential Women in 2026. I was also the runner-up in Mrs. India Florida USA 2022–2023. I am also a passionate dancer, wife, and mother of one son. Currently, I serve on the Executive Committee-Media Co-ordinator of a nonprofit organization in Florida. Speaking of my professional experience, I worked as an HR Administrator at AR Solutions from 2023 to 2025. My professional journey has been quite different from others. I have more life experience than professional experience and I believe that has helped me throughout my career. I worked for a consulting company in an in-person role where I had to be there every day while most people in the United States were working from home. Although I had only a few colleagues in the office, most of the time, I was the only person managing the entire office, working alone, coordinating with attorneys and supporting employees on my own. It was pretty challenging at first, but it eventually turned into a good learning experience of how to be responsible, disciplined, and manage my time when no one is watching. It was my first job, and it gave me a truly unique experience. I’m always proud of that phase of my career.

Lessons Learned in Human Resources
We were curious to know what valuable lessons Aarthi Ravichandran gained during her experience as an HR Administrator, so we asked her to share the key learnings from that role.
Aarthi Ravichandran: Many people think HR jobs are easy, but it’s not as easy as you think. It’s a huge responsibility and commitment to yourself and to the leadership team that trusts you. Everyone’s journey is different, so is their experience. The biggest lessons I learned were self-appreciation, time management, and taking ownership of the company. It doesn’t matter whether we do something small or big, what really matters is learning and making progress every day. Sometimes what we are doing will not be seen by everyone, so appreciate yourself when no one is watching. That’s more important for any person. That was keeping me going most of the days when I was working alone in the office. Keeping a positive mindset all the time is not practically possible for everyone, still I tried and succeeded most of the time. The power of self-appreciation is real. When it comes to time management, before joining the company, I was a homemaker for a long time and you know how difficult it is for someone who is lazy, to be on time to the office every day. Some days were challenging, but most days I succeeded. But at the end of the day, I was making progress on being on time every day.
There is a huge difference between being responsible and taking ownership. As the eldest member of my family, I have always taken responsibility for my family, finances, career, and passions through every decision I have made. I applied the same strategy initially when I joined AR Solutions. But eventually I felt something was lacking. One day when I was casually talking to the President of AR Solutions, he told me to take ownership. That helped me understand the importance of every task and responsibility. When I started practicing that, I learned how important it is to take ownership of my job and that completely changed my perspective. In fact it became a little easier to sort out the work and prioritize each task one by one.
A Passion for Giving Back
We were interested in learning what inspired Aarthi Ravichandran to become involved with nonprofit organizations, so we asked her what motivated this meaningful commitment.
Aarthi Ravichandran: I’m a Master of Social Work student. During my college days, we had mandatory field visits which were part of the course, where we used to visit different NGOs, organizations, and hospitals a couple of days every week. That made me realize that community service was something I truly wanted to pursue. Also, I remember when I was a kid, I saw my father and my neighbors working for our community and these things inspired me to contribute my time for NGOs. The first NGO I worked with was Seattle Tamil Sangam which was a Tamil-driven community organization, where I volunteered to help organize events. Then I volunteered for Shirdi Sai Baba Sansthan, Bellevue which is a Hindu temple organization, where my work has been a part of service to God and to the People. Currently, I serve on the Executive Committee-Media Co-ordinator of North Florida Tamil Sangam which is also a Tamil-driven community organization in Florida. Last year I got this opportunity to join this NGO, I told myself, “when the opportunity comes, make the most of it, so in the end I don’t have any regrets of missing the opportunity”.

The Qualities of an Effective HR Professional
We were curious to learn Aarthi Ravichandran’s perspective on human resources today, so we asked her what qualities she believes define an effective HR professional.
Aarthi Ravichandran: There are many talented HR professionals making a positive impact every day. Also, compared to previous decades, the number of HR professionals is increasing, which is really good to see in today’s world. With 1.5 years of experience in HR, I believe the most important qualities are confidence, communication, and a strong presence of mind. Many people think communication is all about language, which is not entirely true. Good communication means understanding what others say, ensuring they understand you, and achieving positive outcomes for both sides. In today’s world, confidence plays a significant role in earning respect. It’s more important for HR to have that confidence to deal with employees as well as with clients. When it comes to problematic situations, having a presence of mind is more important for any HR. This is because HR professionals are among the key decision-makers in an organization. Not having a proper presence of mind will put them into difficult situations.
Overcoming Challenges Through Growth
We were interested in understanding the challenges Aarthi Ravichandran has faced throughout her career, so we asked her how she overcame them and what they taught her.
Aarthi Ravichandran: The main challenge was the paperwork. It was completely new to me, so it took time for me to understand and eventually enjoy the work and get used to it. I was following the work by writing notes and approaching each task one step at a time and focusing on one task each day. That really helped me remember the process and eventually I got used to it. Also, engaging with government agencies was really difficult because they were difficult to reach and that taught me the importance of patience.

Looking Ahead with Purpose
We were interested in learning about Aarthi Ravichandran’s aspirations for the future, so we asked her to share her vision, both professionally and personally.
Aarthi Ravichandran: My vision for the future both personally and professionally is to help people, particularly the elderly and younger generations. I don’t reveal everything, because I want to make it happen.

Words of Encouragement for Future Changemakers
We were curious to know what advice Aarthi Ravichandran would give to individuals who want to make a positive difference but are unsure where to begin, so we asked her to share her message.
Aarthi Ravichandran: The message I definitely want to convey is to go with the flow, develop self-awareness, and find your purpose. Finding your purpose is where your true life begins. Your purpose may not always be based on your career, family, love, or marriage. It may be something small or big, depending on each individual. I believe everyone comes to this world for some reason, so find a purpose and start working towards that.
